They call me Bryan. The performer. The artist.
A single child to two creative and artistic parents, I spent most of my childhood
being exposed to Broadway musicals, old movies and television shows. I never fancied the Tonka trucks,
playing Nintendo or getting dirty on the playground with other kids. I experienced weekends of adventures to
antique stores and flea markets. My father, a collector himself, delved into Julie Andrews, musicals, and
tinkered around with obtaining any marionette he could find.
We were among the millions in Orange County, California of a two parent working household. Most days
as a mere 5 year old were spent at my Grandmother's house. I can still smell the cinnamon raisin toast
in the air as if it were yesterday. I would grab an otter pop, throw the VHS in the VCR and spend the
night with the funniest red head I knew...
My collecting started soon after this. Weekends with my father became something of habit and ritual. We went to flea markets, antique stores and garage sales always looking for the next great find. We went EVERYWHERE! Simply put, I was just drawn to Lucy; And back then, Lucy collecting was easier. Everything we found, I HAD to have. I can still remember some of our first purchases, the Body Language board game and children's book, “Lucy and the Madcap Mystery”. (Items I STILL have today).

As Holidays and Birthdays came and went, the days of asking for Lucy items continued and my collection grew significantly. By age 10, I was the proud owner of over 200 items.
Now, at the age of 35, the passion and love that I have for Lucille Ball, her successes and her stories have a special place in my heart. I find it important, not only to treasure a piece of cinematic and television history, but as a younger collector to join in preserving her legacy.
So I invite you to take a look at my collection. Ask Questions. Share YOUR collection with me. It is time for old and new generations of collectors to come together again because in the end, don't we all love Lucy?
